India’s compassionate youth is showing the world that they can be change-makers at any age. They are not the ones who have been kept away from the ground realities of real India. (Bharat)
They just need to be empowered as we develop a pipeline of human-centred leaders who value people and our planet more than just business and profits.
Our young champions stepped up as researchers, advocates, innovators, promoting health and safety through some of the harshest times. Their bold ideas, courage and relentless determination are a reminder of how we can achieve a safer and equal world.
United Way India has been at the forefront of recognizing and supporting our youth to solve real problems while acquiring critical skills for the future through our various youth volunteering programs.
We profile some of our youth volunteers who are raring to go and making the most of the opportunities available to them:
Iram Ali, 21- years old, is pursuing a Master’s degree in public health from Punjab University, India. She is a research and field volunteer for United Way India’s program team. Iram is passionate about improving the access to healthcare for all and has been assisting United Way India with need assessment studies, secondary research, report compilation and database collation.
Kanishka, 20-years old, is pursuing M.Sc in Nutrition & Health Communication from SNDT college, Pune. An avid reader, her interest lies in contributing towards a sustainable future. She has been strengthening the UW program through her research efforts, interactions with community members, data collection and content writing.
Our world is developing at a fast pace, and so are the humanitarian needs.
It is our shared responsibility to empower our youth change-makers, through real-world exposure in education systems, mobilizing resources and champion their skill development through volunteering opportunities.
No matter where you are in the world, you can always reach out to your local United Way to help you find your place for doing social good for a better tomorrow.
This is truly how we can all #LiveUnited.
