NGO Working for Skill Development in India | United Way India

Economic Mobility

United Way India, through its initiative ‘Sampann’, a hindi term for ‘prosperous’ or ‘successful’, aims to make skill training accessible to individuals in underprivileged communities, enabling them to overcome financial barriers and enhance their quality of life.

In India, the labor force participation rate for females stands at 24%, while for males, it is 73.6% in 2022, according to data from the World Bank.

It’s worth noting that women-led development is a key focus of the G20 India presidency in 2023, emphasizing women’s empowerment and representation to drive socio-economic development.

Our programs are designed to create sustainable job opportunities, both economically and environmentally, for marginalized population groups, with a particular emphasis on empowering women.
