United Way India is proud to collaborate with Cargill to support the fight against prostate cancer.
Prostate cancer is one among the top ten leading cancers in India. It usually affects men in the age group of 65+ years. However, recently there has been an increase in reports of cancer in younger men from the age groups of 35-44 and 55-64 residing in metropolitan cities. Old age, obesity, improper diet, and genetic alterations have been identified as some of its main contributing factors. A study conducted in Mumbai revealed that patients who underwent prostate cancer treatment with surgery had a 91% survival rate.
Your support will be utilized towards prostate cancer treatment at the Sri Shankara Cancer Foundation, a leading non-profit cancer hospital and research center. It is based in Bangalore and attracts patients from all over India, especially the poor.
Your participation and encouragement is key to the success of the project. Your contribution will be best utilized for the welfare of deserving patients, and we are confident that you will continue to encourage us in the success of this noble venture. We also appeal that you spread the message among your friends and relatives, and encourage them to join us in this mission.
