Water body restoration
Conserving water bodies with community effort
With an aim to achieve positive water use, Devanhalli Lake Restoration Project is reviving and improving aquatic biodiversity.
With major water pollutants like invasive seaweed, non biodegradable waste, garbage, lack of care and strengthening measures, Devanhalli lake had become lifeless and its conditions worsened. It is situated adjacent to the historic Devanahalli fort and is said to be as old as the fort itself.
The restoration intervention was carried out during the period of May to July, 2022, helping in bringing back the shine of Devanhalli Lake. Some of the activities which were taken over were de-weeding, garbage removal, bund strengthening & dual embankment, construction of Islands, protective fencing.
