Together #WeEmpower People

The COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging, and it has put significant pressure on our healthcare system. Nevertheless, our healthcare workers continue to devote their time and energy to contain this pandemic. We are humbled by their immense sacrifices, invaluable dedication, commitment, and unwavering efforts in managing COVID-19, oftentimes risking their own lives, for the benefit of the nation. To convey our gratitude to the frontline heroes, United Way India reached out to 46 hospitals in Mumbai, Thane, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Thiruvallur, Udupi, Dharwad, Belagavi, New Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Panchamal to distribute 150,000 Nivea creams to health workers. The people of India are not only struggling for healthcare facilities but also for food, the pandemic amplified the vulnerabilities of the people who have lost their jobs and meager incomes. To support people in these difficult times, under the aegis of the Hungry No More campaign of United Way India we reached out to 12000+ families in nine districts of Tamil Nadu with food and hygiene kits, with support from Nivea. The distribution took place in Ariyalur, Dharmapuri, Javadi Hills, Kolli Hills-Namakkal, Nilgiris, Perambalur, Ramanathapuram, Tiruvannamalai, Villupuram and Virudhunagar. These kits are sufficient for a family of 4-5 people for a month and will help them survive in these testing times.

United Way India is thankful to Nivea for playing an important role in ensuring that our communities continue to receive the nutrition needed during these unprecedented times. #WeEmpowerDailyLife
