United Way is a 132-year-old volunteer-led, global movement of 1600 community chapters across 40+ countries. Headquartered in Virginia, USA, United Way Worldwide is the world’s largest privately held non-profit organization. United Way India is part of United Way Worldwide network.

United Way India was established in 1989, and has a nationwide presence through the eight local chapters i.e. Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Baroda, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad. Each of the local chapters is led by strong industry and community thought leaders.

United Way leverages the talents and expertise of local communities to craft solutions to India’s unique social problems and set the standard for results and accountability. It strives to be a torchbearer for impactful philanthropy by engaging all relevant stakeholders, including corporate and individual donors, local communities, volunteers, sector experts, and the government.

United Way India leverages the strength of over 10,000 volunteers, supports 400+ NGOs across the country, and raises nearly INR 2 billion annually for the benefit of the underprivileged. With close to 10,00,000 people positively impacted, the organization envisions a stronger India where individuals and communities have access to quality education, income stability, and better healthcare.
