NGO Working for Education in India | United Way India

Education

United Way India aims to support every child from cradle to career in marginalized communities. Our programs adopt a holistic approach to serve students in government schools by ensuring proper infrastructure, essential materials, and effective interventions that enhance learning. This approach aims to not only promote continuous education but also to significantly reduce the rate of school dropouts.

  • U-DISE 2021-22 report shows that 1.08 mn. govt. schools are in need of digital upgradation and infrastructure support.
  • Further, drop out rate has increased from 0.8% to 1.45% in primary enrolments during 2021-22.
  • An overwhelming majority of schools have neither computers (61%) nor internet access (78%), as per U-DISE+* Data, 2020
  • India’s performance on SDG 4: Quality Education: India has a goal-wise score of 57 out of 100,  as shared by NITI Aayog in 2020
  • 121 mn. students are 1st generation learners in India: Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) report, 2019
