Project Happiness Drive - United Way India

Project Happiness Drive

Project Happiness Drive

Overview

This program supports underprivileged children with materials like books, digital devices for higher classes, and remedial teacher assistance. It also raises awareness and encourages families to send their children to school and equips them with the essential tools required for their education.

The Need

Article 21A of the Constitution of India upholds the right for all children of India to receive elementary education, irrespective of caste, class, creed, or religion. Every child has this inherent right, which cannot be waived. However, the responsibility for providing social and supportive tools to enable children to access education still predominantly falls on the families of these children. Unfortunately, some families choose to engage their children in child labor to supplement their household income rather than providing them the ‘luxury’ of schooling.

The Happiness Drive aims to bridge the gap for the underprivileged and those with a poor socio-economic background. Additionally, the Happiness Drive raises awareness and encourages families to send their children to school and equips them with the essential tools required for their education.

The Benefits
