Heavy rains in north India, starting around July 18,2023, brought devastation to Uttarakhand, claiming lives and causing significant property damage due to landslides and other rain-related incidents. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) attributes this unprecedented rainfall to the confluence of a western disturbance and monsoonal winds. The resulting destruction of connecting roads in Uttarakhand, along with neighboring states, has severely affected the movement of essential goods and commodities like grains, vegetables, and medicines. Immediate Relief in Chamoli District Uttarakhand, particularly Chamoli district, has borne the brunt of these natural calamities.
